The Hall of Fame came to be through many discussions over a period of years, and with the renovation of the facility came an opportunity to design an award-winning space to house the Hall on the upper level.
This paved the way for the formation of a Board of Directors to take the project from an idea to a reality. The Hall is constructed with movable display cases in a mock-arena with actual rink boards, a theatre room, an interactive area, and even a chandelier of hockey sticks! Since opening in 2012 to celebrate 100 years of Hockey Saskatchewan, the Ted Knight Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame has welcomed visitors from around the world.
Though the official location of the Hall is Swift Current, the Hall of Fame wants to stress the inclusion of the entire province. An induction dinner is held annually, in a different location across the province, to allow everyone in Saskatchewan the opportunity to be involved in this initiative and the fundraising efforts needed to maintain and promote the Hall.
